What we collect

The trip checker reads the inputs you submit in the query string so it can render a result page. The first release does not store those inputs on a server database.

Local preferences

Saved reports and alert interest use browser local storage. You can remove them from the trip tray or clear browser storage.

The trip you enter in the trip checker, meaning the destination, passport or nationality, travel date, purpose and extra checks, is also kept in browser local storage so other pages can prefill it. It is not stored on a server database in this release. Clearing browser storage removes it.

Contact messages

The contact form sends us your name, your email address, the topic, the subject and your message, with the page you sent it from and when. We also keep a scrambled form of your network address, never the address itself, only to stop the form being flooded. Our staff read your message to answer it, which is our legitimate interest and yours.

We reply by email from a no-reply address at this site's own domain, sent through Mailjet, an email delivery service, which handles your email address, our reply, and your original message only if we quote it. Replies to that address are not read, so to write again use the contact form and quote your reference.

A message is kept until it is answered and closed, then for 24 months after closing; a message marked as spam is deleted 30 days after.

Analytics

If you allow analytics, Umami records page visits and loading speed. It is configured not to send URL query strings or fragments.
